Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: I stayed here on two separate occasions as I was traveling between Tunis and other sites. The accommodation was simultaneously modern and luxurious but also authentic with great views at breakfast and a very cool, stylish interior including a central courtyard. All of the amenities were exceptional and there was a nice assortment of complementary items in both rooms I stayed in. I rarely even encountered other guests much less was disturbed by their noise (I mean I'm not like that to be upset by the presence of other tourists but just to say that there were very few disturbances generally), and all of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. If you are visiting the medina, this is a prime location for shopping at the souks.

Negative: The only thing that presented a bit of a challenge was reaching the site of the hotel as it is quite literally in the middle of the medina AKA the walled-off, open market area of the city of Tunis. You have to wander through tight streets with your luggage. I loved this initially because it felt as though I had stepped into a time capsule to medieval Tunis BUT older guests or those with limited movement may struggle to maneuver the streets and it's maybe a 10-minute walk through them from the nearest vehicle drop-off point. By the second or third time of doing this, the novelty was starting to wear off, haha. However, that's the price you pay for authenticity and in every instance the desk/security team offered to help me move stuff to the car, so only a minor inconvenience overall.

Summary: Authentic and luxurious.
