Positive: The property has quaint character with rooms facing a small inner courtyard with small tables and chairs. The decor is rustic and stylish. The suite on the 1st flr has a large closet to hang clothes and to put away luggage. Location in the Médina is good for those wanting to be in it, and close to the mosque.

Negative: This property may not be the best choice for those wanting a relaxing and quiet environment. There are very thin walls. Throughout the day there is constant metal grinding from souvenir factory next door. The staff share a hotel room, and sit/lounge in the courtyard talking on their phones and smoke throughout the day. It echos and can get loud. Property is in the Medina and cannot be reached door-to-door by car/taxi. The closest drop off/pick up is a minimum 5 minute walk or 15 min walk from the Porte du France square. They need to clean or replace the mattress as it is quite soiled. The TV did not work in the double room and staff never followed with me when they said they would. There is no closet in the double room. Staff/concierge failed to follow through twice on her promises to provide response to inquiry. During a total 5 day stay (3 nights in suite at start of trip and 2 nights in double room at end) neither room was serviced by staff. Rooms are quaint but lack attention to detail/repairs. The property changed it’s name in Booking.com from Dar May to Dar Zyne without notification/explanation which caused some confusion for myself and another couple. Unless you want to spend a lot of time in the Medina which can be seen easily in half to one day, in hindsight, I would have stayed outside of the Medina.
