Positive: My wife, my father, and I stayed at Marlina Homestay from 20/12/25 to 26/12/25, and it ended up being one of the most memorable parts of our time in Raja Ampat. From the moment we arrived, the hosts made us feel genuinely welcome. They were incredibly friendly, warm, and always happy to help, while still giving us plenty of space to enjoy our stay at our own pace. The homestay provides all the essentials you need to be comfortable, nothing more, nothing less. This was something we really appreciated, as it didn’t take away from the raw, natural feeling of Raja Ampat. It felt authentic, simple, and perfectly in tune with the surroundings. The location is truly spectacular, tucked away in its own quiet corner of paradise. With only two huts, we loved the privacy and the sense of peace and isolation, it really felt like we had escaped from the world. Despite feeling so remote, Marlina Homestay is also just a quick scoot away from the iconic Piaynemo, making it easy to visit one of Raja Ampat’s most famous viewpoints. One of the highlights was the nearby reef known as Fantastic Reef. The diversity and sheer abundance of marine life there were unbelievable, easily the best reef we experienced anywhere in Raja Ampat. Another small but important detail was having a private bathroom, which added a level of comfort and convenience that really set Marlina Homestay apart from other places offering a more minimalist experience. We would highly recommend Marlina Homestay to anyone looking to truly disconnect, experience a different and quieter side of Raja Ampat, and who is comfortable with simplicity. It’s a special place, and we’re very grateful we had the chance to stay there.
